George F. Sohnlein, 87, of Newport, KY passed away on September 29, 2012 at his residence. He was a Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War and was a electrician with Newport Steel. George was born January 17, 1925 in Covington, KY to George F. & Helen (nee: Pieper) Sohnlein. He was preceded in death by Wife, Betty (nee: Martin) Sohnlein. George is survived by his children, Ray (Barbara) Sohnlein of Edgewood, KY, Connie (Gerry) Barone of Fort Thomas, KY, George (Lisa) Sohnlein of Green Township, OH, David (Cyndi) Sohnlein of Dayton, KY, Donna (Ron) Neiser of Alexandria, KY, Michael (Coleen) Sonhlein of Newport, KY & Nancy (Dennis) Turner of Melbourne, KY, Sisters, Thelma Farney of Fort Thomas, KY & Audrey Juengling of Wilder, KY, fourteen grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. Visitation 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 S. Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Holy Spirit Parish, 825 Washington Avenue, Newport, KY with Msgr. William F. Cleves, officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
